This summer we stay in Greece. We visit Chios Island.

Chios Island is the 2nd largest island of the North-Eastern Aegean Islands. Only 10 nautical miles from Turkey Coast. Chios has various fishing villages and some picturesque medieval villages which are kept in excellent condition. Those villages of Chios are called “Mastihochoria” (Mastic Villages) by the locals because there inhabitants used to produce and export big quantities of mastic from the numerous mastic-trees of the area. Thanks to the mastic, they became wealthy and built the superb houses and mansions that can be admired today in this Greek island.

Fine beaches with golden sand or coloured pebbles are embellishing the coastline of the beautiful island of Chios. They all have crystal-clear waters which vary between turquoise, azure or deep blue. Many of those wonderful beaches are well-organised and propose various rentals and sea sports equipments. There are beaches that have a higher volume of traffic and tourist amenities to suite your needs. For the adventurous there are many beaches that do not have many people and are just as beautiful. Its worth dicovering them.
